- 1 cup fresh coconut pieces
- 2 tablespoons roasted gram chana dal
- 1 green chilli
- A small piece ginger
- Salt to taste

For Tempering optional

- Half teaspoon mustard seeds
- 4 curry leaves
- 1 dry red chilli
Step by Step Method to Make Coconut Chutney
Step 1
Blend the Chutney
- Add coconut chana dal green chilli ginger salt and curd to a blender.
- Add a little water.
- Blend until smooth.
- Add more water if you want thinner chutney.
The chutney should look creamy white and soft.
Step 2
Temper the Chutney Optional
- Heat a small pan with oil.
- Add mustard seeds.
- Add curry leaves and dry red chilli.
- Pour this on top of the chutney.
Tempering adds more flavor but the chutney tastes good even without it.
