  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon nigella seeds optional

Step by Step Method to Make Turkish Pide Bread

Step 1

Prepare the Dough

  1. Take a bowl.
  2. Add flour yeast sugar and salt.
  3. Mix gently.
  4. Add yogurt oil and warm water.
  5. Mix and knead for five to seven minutes until soft.

The dough should be smooth and stretchy.


Step 2

Let the Dough Rise

  1. Cover the dough with a cloth.
  2. Let it rest for one hour.
  3. It should double in size.

Step 3

Shape the Pide

  1. Take the dough and press it lightly.
  2. Shape it into a round or oval flatbread.
  3. Press your fingers to make light diamond lines on top.
  4. Brush with egg yolk.
  5. Sprinkle sesame and nigella seeds.

Step 4

Bake the Bread

  1. Preheat oven.
  2. Place the bread on a tray.
  3. Bake for ten to twelve minutes until golden.
